Field Guidance

● Crested Kingfisher

Photography is done while seated inside a hide (blind).
Please bring a compact outdoor chair or rent one suitable for hide photography.

Please prepare a headlamp or small light source for use before sunrise.

As photography is often done at relatively close range, we kindly ask guests to remain as quiet as possible.

Please avoid shaking the blind or pulling the fabric aside to look outside.

A simple roof cover is provided, but rain protection is recommended during bad weather.

Summer Season
From July to early September, please prepare for hot weather conditions.

Winter Season
From November through early May, warm winter clothing is strongly recommended.

● Mountain Hawk-Eagle

Photography is done while moving between locations by car.
Sometimes we walk into brush or rough terrain, so please wear shoes suitable for dirt and uneven ground.

We recommend wearing clothing in natural or subdued colors.

Binoculars are highly recommended and very useful.

While guides may walk around searching for birds, guests are often best positioned near the vehicle or at the location designated by the guide.

● Ruddy Kingfisher

This tour often involves walking on mountain trails with some uphill and downhill sections.

During rainy conditions the trails may become muddy and slippery, so hiking boots or rubber boots with good grip are recommended.

Binoculars are highly recommended and very useful.

Please keep noise to a minimum while photographing.

Please avoid shaking the blind or pulling the fabric aside to look outside.

A simple roof cover is provided, but rain protection is recommended during bad weather.
